Any customer who is willing to buy a BEE-registered product can determine the energy efficiency of the product from the number of stars on the product label. The higher the number of stars, the more energy efficient the product and the more electricity it saves.
A product with a 5-star rating is the highest, and a product with a 1-star rating is the lowest.

The entire BEE registration process is divided into three main steps which include online completion and hard copy submission. The entire lifecycle of product registration with BEE includes company registration, product testing and model approval. Below is a brief description of the process for each stage of registration.
Company registration: The first step of Star Labeling registration is to register the company with BEE on its online portal. All manufacturers/importers/traders who wish to apply in the system must go through this step. The registration process includes the submission of mandatory documents and applicant information. Documents such as ISO 9001, trademark, country code, authorization, etc. must be uploaded during the online application process. In addition, the applicant must submit the printed originals to the Office of Energy.
Apart from online filling, the applicant has to pay a fee of 1,00,000/- (if the applicant is a large scale industry) or 25,000/- (if the applicant is an MSME).
Bee Registration For Light Commercial Air Conditioner
Testing: After the Office has approved the company registration application, the applicant will receive the login data required for their portal via their registered e-mail ID. The applicant can fill out the model registration application with the same. However, before proceeding with the model registration process, the applicant must have their products tested at a NABL accredited laboratory or an ILAC MRA lab. The test report shall be in the format specified by BEE and shall include all test parameters. To test the product, the applicant must share the product sample along with the test documents as required by the test facility. Also, before applying for model registration, check that the date of issue of the LAB reports does not exceed 90 days.
Model registration: After completing the test, the applicant can now request model registration on the online BEE portal. For registration, an exam report (not older than 90 days) is required, together with the mandatory documents in the specified format. After uploading all the documents and details online along with the sample tag. A fee of 2,000 must be paid to the Board.
After submitting the application online, all hard copies along with the online application and payment slip are submitted to most departments.

The validity of the BEE depends on the duration of the labeling issued by the Office.
