BEWARE First Class (now Horizon Services)!!!! Great job by my technician Dave, but terrible prices!!! After the repairman left I looked up the cost of the parts that were replaced… less than $100. The tech was done in less than an hour…my Horizon Services bill was $1400!!!!! Crazy! I will be sure to share my experience with Horizon Services with everyone I can… Google, Yelp, Nextdoor, etc….

Do not use this company. We replaced our furnace and our issue is that the new furnace is not noisy. We are assured that this will not happen. After installation and many complaints about it being noisy we were told it was working properly and nothing could be done about it. Later, after hiring several other HVAC companies to try and fix the problem, we found out that First Class HVAC never obtained an installation permit and never did a load test to determine the right equipment. Instead, they installed a unit twice the size of the required unit! We have asked them several times to replace the unit or even move and they won’t. It’s terrible that they don’t stand up to their work and correct mistakes. Check with the Better Business Bureau. They have had 5 cases and mine is the 6th.

This is my second review of First Class. The first is the installation of the HVAC system. Although it is expensive, the entire system, including the pipe work, must be installed. I am happy with this job. For this review I got to Level One to fix the outer tubes. I need the shut off valve owner trained and replaced. This required digging a 4-foot deep hole and replacing the shut-off valve. This is not a very difficult job but it is dirty and heavy work that takes about 4 hours of work. I got my first HVAC level on December 17. After 11 days and many excuses I finally got a quote for $1300, about double what the job cost. Called to find out why the price was high and was told that was the price the owner wanted to do. Called another plumbing company and the next morning sent a plumber, called T&M at an estimate of $700, finished the job 4 hours later and got a bill of $725. Almost $10K was spent on the First Class system. HVAC 2 years ago, had an open price of $5K to add a split system to our spring porch. For some reason they don’t want our sugarcane business. They might not get any business in the future.
I was concerned about damage to the house and FC HVAC was quick to respond and helpful. Mike, our technician, came out to help and was able to fix the problem exactly within 5 minutes! I have worked with Mike over the years on many properties and have found him and FC HVAC to be knowledgeable, professional, helpful and get things done! 🙂 They stand by their work and business.
Great, except they didn’t mention the $675 refund for the state of Delaware. When I took it they confirmed it. I feel like they don’t want to fill out the paperwork until the customer asks. That being said, I have not heard anything about a refund from them or the State. There was also no follow up after the technicians installed the unit to see if everything was correct and if I was satisfied. I don’t think I will use it in the future.

First Class responded within hours. The technician said he had to order parts. I point out that this may be covered by the manufacturers warranty. He said it would be better to let them fix it and try to get our money back from the manufacturer. I agree faster. It took 8 days to receive the part. This is JULY. HOT. Finally it was fixed. The first class office said they would file letters with the manufacturer to void the warranty. After three weeks they informed us that they could not do it. We have to do it ourselves. The office manager, Debbie, is courteous and humble. We called several service companies in our area and they all said their policy is to sue the customer. At this point it’s not about the money…we refuse to work for a company that doesn’t do what they say they will do. First Class has no CLASS in my opinion.
